Hi everyone...
I'm thinking of doing a small and very informal experiment to learn a little about radiation exposure. I really think its minimal, but I am curious...especially curious to know more about long-haul/high altitude flights. I have a little more to learn before I actually do it (this may become my senior biochem/molecular bio thesis if it looks interesting), but would any of you be willing to participate?
What I'd ask (if it looks like it will be any kind of reliable indicator) is for you guys to keep a radiation exposure badge (that I'd provide) on you while flying for about a month or so...and also to provide your list of flights for the month (including flight time and altitude info). The only potential issue is that the badge obviously can't go through the x-ray machine, and I don't know yet if they'd set off the metal detector. I'd like to get a broad range of flying...but would especially like to include those who do long hauls exclusively.
PM me if you're interested.
