Does anyone have a method they use to keep your hair soft and managable?

I use to put about 4 drops of baby oil on the ends of my hair.... rub the ends so I don't get split ends...

I do just the opposite...a #1 blade on the clippers keeps it ruff and ready. No maintainence.

I suppose you might not use shampoo?
I had a friend who had his hair that short and had a blowdryer.... (Why?)
ANYHOW...
Here's another tip
even if you don't have ... curly african decendant hair, try to use their hair jell with "mink oil"
I have used this and was complimented many times how nice and soft my hair looked. use "rebound"---clear jelly.
This also helps keeping your hair from lookin like a broomstick end.

To wrap your hair:
use nylon (do rag) or thin scarf

Some styling jelly (you will find in the african hair care section---clear jelly... not pink stuff..)
mouse
baby oil
comb

Directions:

1)take your damp hair and put jelly in first then comb in mouse. put some baby oil (a few drops, like 3-4) on the ends.

2)then proceed to comb your hair around your head ... so your hair ends up wound up and stuck on your scalp.( like it's wrapped around your head....)

3) carefully put your scarf on.

4) let it dry.

take the scarf off...
You will find your hair soft, supple and full of body.

Oddly enuf, still do shampoo. I find that just soap leaves the scalp itchy for some reason. Even funnier, I still use conditioner sometimes...

They say that beer is very good for your hair. Not being a beer drinker, I've never invested in that item. Those of you that have cases of the stuff just sitting around to increase your waistline, might want to try this as an experiment for a very worthy cause and let the rest of know if it really does work. Some people swear by it. Really!!! :tongue_2: :tongue_2: :tongue_2: :pilot_2:

I use an oil treatment once a week, and I always use a leave-in conditioner with a sunscreen in it (Nexxus makes a really good one). Since I have hair almost down to my waist, I'm pretty good about doing my darndest to keep it healthy. Nothing is worse than seeing a girl with really long hair, and the ends are all fried!

Also, I use a gloss once I'm done blow-drying it. It "seals" it, makes it shine, and keeps the fly-aways from occurring.

And last but not least...if the ends are fried, don't try to save them. You can't...your hair is already dead and you can't "fix" it once it's damaged to that extent. So I'm just for cutting off what you can't save.

Can you tell I'm anal about this?

When I had... straight hair down to my waist, I used Paul Mitchell detangler (on top of using some shampoo conditioner) and then use Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner (blue looking stuff) ... By Golly, my split end dead area dissapeared AND I always had compliments on my hair.
I don't have thin hair... not thick either...
My other friend rubbed conditioner in the ends first and then used conditoner on the rest of the hair. She said she got rid of split ends that way.
I use to do hair shows (I was a guinea pig model) where I also found Bain De terre? worked well.

I'm too lazy and cheap to do anything with my hair. Whatever shampoo/conditioner is on sale I use. I do have to use conditioner everyday to detangle. My hair is naturally straight too. Wish I had curly hair. Is their any miracle out there, besides a perm, to transform straight to curly hair?

Girl, if you're like me and don't have the patience to spend any time on your hair, you DON'T want curly hair! I've got curly (well, more wavy than curly) hair and it's an absolute NIGHTMARE in humidity. Frizz central! I spend 5 minutes blow drying it straight. 5 minutes is about as much time I can tolerate devoting to it. Only on two occasions does it go curly: If I get caught out in the rain or after sex. Anyhow, I digress... I've heard from friends that those heated twisty things (sorry, don't know what they are called!) work great to create a temporary curly/wavy look.

Shave off your pubes and put them on your head. It works like a charm! :cool_2:

GOOD LAWD! We were not talking about the pubis area (which someone contributed the fact they don't got none)--- but that hair that is on your cranium.

hmm, i suppose it is hair though...

French people (during king Louis the sun god times) use to actually see it as something beautiful and maticulously comb it and put a ribbon on it.

Is that why someone tried to use the CSB on it to clean it good?

Marilyn Monroe is reported to have burned herself by trying to bleach "down there" to match her scalp... OOOOOOOWWWWH

Some Asians are naturally just "Hairless" .... (like one of my friends--- she don't need to SHAVE)

-----------BACK TO THE SUBJECT about HAIR on the SCALP-----

Has anyone tried putting asprin in their conditioner? I did... made my hair soft!

Isn't there a salon in Manhattan that works exclusively with pubic hair? I remember a news story on it...they'll cut/dye/style/etc...you can even have little hearts made in it.
