Talks are continuing between airports operator BAA and the Unite union to try to avert strike action that could close six UK airports later this month.
BAA said it hoped to "quickly conclude an agreement". Unite's Brian Boyd was also "hopeful" a deal could be struck.

Security staff, engineers, and firefighters have voted to strike over a pay offer of up to 1.5%. Strikes could close Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports, BAA has warned.

Slater dramatically quit his job after a reported argument took place between him and a female passenger. Grace tells ET she's siding with Slater: "Typically, I'm against the flight attendant because they've got the power, they've got the peanuts. ... But in this scenario the woman apparently shut the overhead bin on his head! I don't blame him for grabbing two beers and taking the emergency slide. I'd be mad if he didn't."
His mother, cancer stricken Diane Slater, who lives in California, however defended her son.
“I can understand why he snapped," she said. "I would have snapped too. I think he just had a very small meltdown and I think he deserved to be able to have that meltdown. Nobody should be abusing anybody."
