Default serving garments: like or dislike???

I admit it, I don't wear my serving apron. Except maybe that awful concierge jacket in business class, or apron on international flights. Or on hot summer days when my sweater vest would be unbearable.
On domestic flights I wear my sweater vest almost always. Just put on jacket for boarding and when outside aircraft. For service just take off jacket and I am ready.
Oh I hate long sleeve shirts. They look nice but I can't work in them. Short sleeves don't go with a tie but at work it is comfortable.

My favorite serving garment is our tailored navy blue vest. I like to put my name plate on the left side with silver wings above it. I actually like all the serving garments...the apron, as well as the sweater vest (but only with our burgundy tie).

Actually, I guess it depends on the time of day for the flight and meal service. On a short flight between, say, ORD and IND with only a beverage service I don't bother wearing any serving garment, just the tie and shirt.

I know I'm a nerd, but I always wear my serving apron during the service. I HATE getting splattered with tomato juice or bloddy mary mix....gross!!

I can wash my apron in the machine with the rest of my clothes whereas I have to take the pants and jacket to the cleaners. I choose the machine, it is cheaper and takes less time.

I wear my serving garmet. Like Stewboy, I don't like to get splattered with tomato juice on the first day of a five-day trip. Dried tomato juice really stinks!

Like PushHere, I wear a long sleeve sweater with a short-sleeve shirt underneath. I HAVE TO WEAR MY SWEATER BECAUSE OF PIT STAINS!

I refuse to buy more shirts. I have my jacket with me for check-in (in case there's an appaerance review) and for when there is a check rider. Other than that it's sweater city!

Does anyone here from NWA hate those old serving garments like me? I hate them. They're so ugly and washed-out. Especially the female ones. I know they (especially MEM) only wear them to show their seniority.

I like the idea of the serving vest. At other airlines, they have a vest (I don't know if it's for serving). They're really crisp and neat looking. At NWA, we have these crappy acrylic sweaters that get all stretched out.

I've seen those old female aprons.... when first saw an old lady put them on I couldn't resist but to ask
"are you going to paint something?"
just reminded me of kindergarten smocks I was forced to wear for art....
I actually found an old apron vest (no name on it so HA HA HA!)... for men.. it was light, and felt great with the suit... I actually used it.. but gave it to a hapless lax f/a who kept on losing his aprons...
I wear the regular ones because I hate to have stains on my blue dress (don't want to be called monica)
and i can stash extra junk in those deep pockets in those aprons. Therefore, less run time, more time to ask pax about their drinks. More time to read cosmo and karma sutra druing the flight.

Those old female serving dresses are just hideous!!! They look like Holly Hobby or Little House on the Prarie on crack. Hang em up ladies! Get rid of em! We all know you're senior to us.
