Ha, ha, ha...East AC...where I have I heard that before; gosh, I've said it enough times myself Beware, this job can be very addictive. Ever since I started there have been people with 30 years who thought they'd only be here for 5. With every year that goes by, it becomes less and less likely that you'll leave. Usually, it's easier to just start working special assignments; at very least, it'll be good for your CV. If you aren't aching to come back to flying after months on special assignment, then maybe you can be happy in the "real world". It's also a great place to park yourself temporarily if your flying is undesirable. Or maybe the bottom is undesireable enough these days for people to "move on".

Always good to have a realistic plan B in your back pocket, though...
